Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra, weighing in on the selection dilemma facing the national team ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, called it one of the toughest tasks in recent times. With India set to announce its squad soon, the depth of talent currently available will make the job difficult for selectors. There is huge talent, and selectors will have to make some tough calls to shortlist a formidable squad for the Asia event.

"The depth of talent is so immense that even if you are a Test captain and have shattered a lot of records, you are not a certainty in a different format. This is going to be a tough selection. We have won 17 out of the last 20 T20 matches we played," Chopra told ANI.

Chopra also lauded pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah has played 70 T20I matches for India, claiming 89 wickets at an average of 17.74.

"He is a generational talent and one of the best that the world has ever seen. If he is available for the Asia Cup and he plays the games that matter, he should be there," Chopra said.

The long-awaited Asia Cup 2025 will begin on September 9, and India will kick off their campaign on September 10 by facing UAE at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai.
